On Sunday afternoon, IFK Umeå and Sandviks IK stepped onto Vildmannavallen IP to play the final match of the year in Division 2 Norrland. In front of an audience of 125 people, with Andreas Ekegren Hällgren as the referee and Robert Hellström and Andreas Eriksson as assistant referees, it was a match played for honor.
IFK Umeå, who were placed 10th in the table before the match, started the game with a desire for revenge, and after 17 minutes, Sandviks IK received the first warning after an illegal intervention by Daniel Erickson. After 41 minutes, IFK Umeå succeeded in breaking the deadlock with Emil Björkman scoring to take a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Sandviks IK entered the match and, thanks to a goal by Ludvig Brännström in the 56th minute, equalized to 1-1. Both teams then made substitutions in hopes of deciding the match in their favor. However, the match ended in a draw, thus marking the end of the year for both IFK Umeå and Sandviks IK.
Notably, Eric Juntti from IFK Umeå received a warning just one minute before the final whistle. The final result was therefore 1-1, with IFK Umeå finishing in 10th place, while Sandviks IK ended up in 12th place in the table.
