It was a sunny Saturday at Länsförsäkringar AC 1 when Frösö IF and Storfors AIK met in an important match in Division 2 Norrland. The attendance was not particularly large, only 114 spectators, but the players on the field surely had enough adrenaline to keep the atmosphere lively nonetheless.
The match got off to a flying start with an early lead for the home team, as Linton Ulloa Niinivirta scored 1-0 after just thirteen minutes of play. Frösö IF continued to press, and in the seventeenth minute, the next goal came, this time from Carl Eriksson.
Storfors AIK felt compelled to take action and substituted in Otto Norberg at halftime. This paid off, and just two minutes into the second half, Arvid Eklund reduced the deficit to 2-1. Emil Berggren from Frösö IF received a warning shortly after, and it was a bad omen – Storfors AIK would have a fantastic second half.
Oskar Forsgren equalized at 2-2 in the 51st minute, and three minutes later, Ovie Richard put Storfors AIK ahead 2-3. When Arvid Eklund scored his second goal shortly after, the lead was 2-4, and Frösö IF's chances of earning points felt increasingly distant.
Storfors AIK brought in Joseph Wirtala and maintained their strong defense while continuing to threaten offensively. Viktor Carlsson made it 2-5 in the 71st minute, and even though Frösö IF fought until the final whistle, they would not succeed in gaining any points.
At the end of the match, Emil Berggren managed to score his second goal of the day, but it was merely a consolation – the match ended 3-5 in favor of Storfors AIK. Johan Holmqvist and Joseph Wirtala both received a yellow card for the visiting team in the final stages of the match. Referee Robert Ahlman and his assistants Robert Rydén Fogelberg and Gustav Runberg had a hectic match to keep track of, but they acted fairly and efficiently.
