Storfors AIK had home advantage at Hedens IP when they faced Notvikens IK in Division 2 Norrland. Second to last in the table against the bottom team, it looked like it would be a fairly even match on paper. However, just 27 minutes in, Storfors seemed ready to take the lead when Oscar Faulds scored from the penalty spot. It was his first of three goals in the match.
Notviken tried to get into the game, but it was Storfors who continued to press, and in the 41st minute, Faulds scored his second goal of the day. Despite a few dangerous chances from Notviken, Storfors managed to keep a clean sheet all the way to halftime.
In the second half, it looked like more of the same. Ovie Richard scored his first goal of the match after 52 minutes, and Faulds completed his hat trick just four minutes later. Storfors continued to substitute players in and out, and with three new players on the field, Richard scored his second goal with a fine shot in the 64th minute.
Notviken was still trying to reduce the goal difference, but despite a couple of substitutions of their own, they couldn't quite get back into the game. In the end, they finally got a consolation goal when Magnus Johansson scored with a header just a few minutes before the final whistle, giving Notviken their first goal.
The match ended with a commanding 6-1 victory for Storfors AIK, along with some impressive individual performances. Faulds completed his hat trick with three goals, while Richard scored two of his own. Notviken will need to string together some wins in their upcoming matches to avoid relegation.
