On the scorching summer day at Mariedals IP, there was a high-intensity match between Lilla Torg FF and Malmö FF. The home team initially tried to apply pressure on the visitors, but it was Malmö FF who would score the first goal of the match in the 7th minute through Melina Skarström. A thunderous strike into the top right corner that the home goalkeeper had no chance of saving.
Lilla Torg FF attempted to start their attacking game, but Malmö FF was determined not to invite the opponents into the match. Malmö continued to disrupt Lilla Torg, who struggled to find their rhythm in front of goal. Melina Skarström would also score her second goal of the evening in the 21st minute, a side-footed shot into the opposite top corner that made the crowd rise to their feet.
Malmö FF kept the tempo high and seemed to do as they pleased in the match. It wasn’t long before the home team had to relinquish control of the game. After 23 minutes, Rebecka Holm scored her first goal for Malmö FF, and she would soon get the chance to net her second of the evening. After 30 minutes, she scored the fourth goal of the evening, finishing a well-executed attack beautifully. Anna Plantin would also get her name on the scoresheet when she put the ball behind the home goalkeeper in the 35th minute.
However, Lilla Torg FF did not want to give up. In the 50th minute, they had the chance to reduce the deficit when Linnéa Höst made a nice turn and shot on goal. The Malmö FF goalkeeper was helpless, and Lilla Torg FF celebrated their first goal of the match. But joy was short-lived, as Malin Gunnarsson made it 1-6 for the visitors in the 51st minute. Just three minutes later, Anna Plantin scored her second goal of the evening, calmly converting a penalty kick into the top of the net.
The match was practically decided at that point, but that did not stop Malmö FF from continuing to push forward. Stella Malmros would score the last goal of the match in the 82nd minute, a nice lob over the home goalkeeper. The home team tried to get a consolation goal, but to no avail. Instead, Sofie Alerskans received a yellow card in the closing stages of the match for a tough tackle on a Malmö player.
The match ended with a score of 1-8 in favor of the visitors from Malmö FF. A highly entertaining match that the guests completely controlled. Lilla Torg FF will need to reassess their defensive game if they hope to earn points in this series. Malmö FF seems to be on the right track to compete in the title race.
