On a Wednesday evening at Vellinge IP’s A pitch, the stands were completely empty as Vellinge IF prepared to face Stehags AIF in Division 2 Södra Götaland for women. The referee, 130320069, blew the whistle to start the match at 19:00, and both teams began with high tempo and aggressive play. However, it was Vellinge who dominated the game and created the most dangerous chances.
After 28 minutes of play, Vellinge earned a corner kick, which the club’s midfielder, Emma Johansson, perfectly delivered towards goal. After a tangled situation, forward Sofia Andersson managed to head the ball into the net, putting the home team in the lead at 1-0. Stehag’s players tried to respond, but the Vellinge defenders held firm and repelled all threats.
