It was a sunny Saturday afternoon at Sjöbo IP when Sjöbo IF faced BK Höllviken in an exciting match in Division 2 Södra Götaland for women. In front of an audience of 72 people, including referee Malin Vallette and assistant referees Sadik Avdic and Ahmed Mohammed, it soon became clear that this would be a goal-rich event.
The home team Sjöbo IF took control from the start and already in the 29th minute Maria Rix managed to break the deadlock and give her team a 1-0 lead. Ten minutes later, Lina Bodén extended the lead to 2-0, and the home crowd erupted in cheers.
In the 62nd minute, it was again time for Maria Rix to get her name on the scoresheet, scoring her second goal of the day, making it 3-0 for Sjöbo. Just a minute later, Lina Blohmé added to the tally, bringing the score to 4-0 and sealing the victory for her team.
BK Höllviken tried to fight their way back into the match and made two substitutions in the 66th minute, but it did not help against a strongly performing Sjöbo IF. In the 73rd minute, the home team also made a substitution to maintain the pace and secure their defense.
When the referee blew the final whistle, it was clear that Sjöbo IF had won 4-0, which also meant they climbed a few places in the table. After an impressive performance, the players were able to celebrate the victory with their supporters and take home three important points.
