It was an exciting match played between Åhus IF and FC Staffanstorp at Åhus IP A-plan. In front of 100 dedicated spectators, the match started at 12:00 on Sunday.
Referee Fahrudin Zigovic maintained a good level and was assisted by Oscar Öman and Abiel Kifle. Both teams were eager for a victory, and it was evident right from the start. A few minutes into the match, FC Staffanstorp took the lead when number 4 Elin Salmi shot the ball past Åhus IF's goalkeeper - 0-1.
But Åhus IF did not accept defeat. Just three minutes later, Josefine Mårtensson of Åhus IF equalized - 1-1. This was a much-needed boost for Åhus IF, and it wasn’t long before Amanda Rosengren scored in her own way, giving Åhus IF the lead - 2-1.
FC Staffanstorp tried to find a way back into the match, but Åhus IF’s players worked hard and applied pressure on them. In the 19th minute, however, Ida Sandin of Åhus IF received a warning from the referee.
In the second half, Åhus IF did not give up on their attacking play, and in the 48th minute, Gabriella Gucci found the net and secured victory for her team - 3-1. Åhus IF then slowed the pace and did not allow FC Staffanstorp to create any dangerous chances. The match ended 3-1 in favor of Åhus IF.
It was a well-played match with strong performances from both FC Staffanstorp and Åhus IF. But in the end, it was Åhus IF who were the better team and took a well-deserved victory at home on their own pitch.
