On a sunny Saturday afternoon, Åhus IF and IFK Karlshamn faced each other at Åhus IP A-plan in front of an empty stand. Åhus IF, in seventh place in the table, and IFK Karlshamn, in ninth place, both had a desire to secure three points from the match.
The match started evenly, but it was Åhus IF that found the net first. After six minutes of play, Frida Welinder received the ball in the penalty area and skillfully shot in 1-0 for the home team. Åhus IF continued to dominate the match, extending their lead when Josefine Mårtensson scored 2-0 in the 14th minute.
IFK Karlshamn then had a chance to reduce the deficit when they were awarded a free kick, but it went over the goal. Shortly thereafter, things heated up on the field as both Frida Welinder from Åhus IF and Emma Nordahl from IFK Karlshamn received yellow cards.
IFK Karlshamn finally got a long-awaited goal when Jonna Nilsson scored to make it 2-1 in the 41st minute. Åhus IF quickly countered and managed to score their third goal through Amanda Rosengren in the 59th minute. However, IFK Karlshamn refused to be defeated and reduced the score to 3-2 just a few minutes later when Jenna Bengtsson found the net.
IFK Karlshamn continued to fight and equalized to 3-3 through Emma Nordahl in the 70th minute. But Åhus IF would not be easily overcome and scored two quick goals in the 74th and 78th minutes through Ella Andersson and Amanda Rosengren.
IFK Karlshamn strived to catch up, and Maja Beike managed to score the fourth goal for the away team in the 85th minute. But with only minutes left in the match, Emma Nordahl received her second yellow card and was sent off, making it harder for IFK Karlshamn to come back.
The match ended 5-4 in favor of Åhus IF, allowing them to maintain their seventh place in the table. IFK Karlshamn needs to continue fighting to climb up the standings.
