The first half was tightly contested with neither team able to take control and score. But just before halftime, the decisive goal came that would ignite Vellinge IF in the second half. Elin Svensson's goal in the 43rd minute put the home team ahead 2-1 as the teams went into the break.
The second half turned out to be a dominant display from Vellinge IF as they continued to press their opponents and scored three quick goals. Elin Svensson impressed once again, netting her second goal and Vellinge IF's third in the 56th minute, before Linn Nilsson and Rebecca Westerlund both scored their respective goals in the 63rd and 74th minutes.
The goals meant that Vellinge IF won the match 5-1, making a significant leap in the standings from third place to second place. Färjestadens GOIF thus lost their second place in favor of Vellinge IF and became third in Division 2 Södra Götaland instead.
