On Sunday afternoon, August 13th, IFK Berga faced VMA IK in an exciting Division 2 match at Bergavik IP 1 in Kalmar. The home team, IFK Berga, had the advantage of playing on their home ground and was determined to try to secure their first victory of the season, while the visiting team, VMA IK, who had previously won five matches, aimed to maintain their fine form in the pursuit of the top of the table.
The match kicked off right at 1:00 PM, with Delavar Vahdanjo as the referee, assisted by Rustam Osmanov and Mohammad Khalil Salame, and approximately 150 spectators in the stands.
VMA IK seized control of the match from the start, and in the first minute, Elliot Pramberg managed to shoot the ball into the net, giving the visitors a lead of 0-1. Just four minutes later, Pramberg added to his tally by scoring again, making it 0-2 for VMA IK. After 30 minutes of play, Elliot Blennborn scored a third goal for VMA IK, making it extremely difficult for the home team to catch up.
IFK Berga made a substitution in the 35th minute, bringing on Oliver Hansson for Nasratullah Shirzad in an attempt to turn the match around. This effort paid off in the 40th minute when Peiman Eliassi scored a goal for IFK Berga, reducing the deficit to 1-3 right before the halftime break.
IFK Berga continued to apply pressure after the break by substituting Wilmer Samuelsson for Andréas Lundqvist and Adel Ziarat for Olle Lindh. However, VMA IK remained vigilant and substituted Rasmus Lundin for Julian Grozdanovski in the 49th minute and made another change in the 60th minute, bringing on Elliot Blennborn for Fabian Sandgren to maintain their grip on the match.
Ardi Ajeti, the coach of IFK Berga, received a warning in the 70th minute, and it looked like time was running out for the home team until Gzim Morina was substituted in for Gentrit Citaku, while VMA IK also made their final change with Victor Lundin replacing Jimmy Rossander.
As the match neared its end with 89 minutes on the clock, Gzim Morina received a warning just after coming on, which he was not particularly pleased about. But just when the match seemed to be over, Peiman Eliassi scored a goal in the second minute of stoppage time, which meant an important reduction for the home team, although it was not enough to earn any points from the match.
VMA IK finished the match with a 3-2 victory and were able to head home to Västervik with three points in hand. IFK Berga had a strong second half, but it was not enough to turn the match around.
