IFK Haninge came to the match in strong form, and it was evident right from the start on the field. Within the first few minutes, they created several dangerous chances, but it was Värmdö IF who took the lead in the 20th minute through Jonathan Eklund. The home team struggled to withstand the pressure from Haninge, and it was only a matter of time before the away team would equalize.

Just before halftime, IFK Haninge managed to equalize through Marwan Bahada, and as the teams went into the break at 1-1, it felt like the momentum was with the away team. This proved to be true when Dragan Kabic and Özgür Yasar each scored within a couple of minutes in the second half.
