It was an intense match between IK Zenith and Västra Karups IF at Hovgårdsvallen in Division 2 Västra Götaland for women. Unfortunately, the audience was not present this Saturday, but that did not prevent the teams from providing excitement and goals.
Västra Karups IF opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when Marie Schön put the ball in the net and took the lead. However, IK Zenith would quickly equalize, and just five minutes later, it was Sara Aronsson who broke through the defense and managed to push the ball into the goal.
IK Zenith now felt the momentum shifting, and just ten minutes later, they were rewarded again. Once again, it was Sara Aronsson's feet that sent the ball into the net, allowing IK Zenith to take a 2-1 lead.
It didn't stop there, for just two minutes later, Sandra Mannerstråle extended the lead to 3-1 for IK Zenith. And before the first half was over, Ella Baldebo managed to score again for the home team, making the score 4-1 after a fantastic first half.
The second half was more even, but IK Zenith controlled the match and kept the play in Västra Karup's half. Klara Benson received a warning for IK Zenith but later in the match capped off the victory by sending the ball into the net, setting the final score at 5-1.
It was clearly a well-played match by IK Zenith, who initially struggled to find their game. But after equalizing in the first half, nothing could stop them. Västra Karups IF fought hard, but IK Zenith was simply too strong for them. The match was well officiated, and the referee, along with the assistant referees, did a good job on the field.
