Askims IK secured a convincing victory against BK Astrio at Kobbegården 1 Artificial Turf. The match started well for the home team when Elin Nilsen scored both 1-0 and 2-0 in just 18 minutes. Nilsen continued to deliver and also made it 3-0 in the 27th minute, achieving a hat trick before halftime.
BK Astrio faced even tougher challenges when Meja Thelander was sent off in the 34th minute. Despite this, Felicia Olsen managed to reduce the deficit for the away team, making the score 4-1. However, it was Askims IK that maintained full control and continued to dominate.
Ida Ekengren and Linn Pettersson extended the lead to 6-1 before halftime. The second half continued in the same vein, with more goals coming in for Askims IK. Astrid Fors, Maria Kalméus, Ella Zetterberg, and Josefin Dannerstedt all contributed to the scoreline, and the match ultimately ended 10-1 in favor of the home team.
Referee Tilda Gustafsson kept good control of the match, assisted by Emin Kosovac and Edvin Lindgren. Although there were no spectators present, Askims IK and BK Astrio delivered entertaining football in Division 2 Västra Götaland, women’s league.
