In a grass field at Hjällbovallen, Gunnilse IS faced Götene IF on Saturday afternoon. Before an audience of 220 people and under the direction of referees Victor Wolf, Magnus Appelberg, and Peter Stefansson, an exciting match unfolded between the two teams.
Already after 35 minutes, Gunnilse took the lead through Ali Selim, and they could then increase it to 2-1 after another goal by Selim in the 41st minute. However, Götene was not out of the game, as they reduced the deficit before halftime with a goal from Robin Johansson, keeping the match in balance.
Just a few minutes into the second half, Johan Karlsson received a yellow card for Götene and Rengber Kalash for Gunnilse. Gunnilse made a substitution in the 61st minute, bringing in Ali Sanduvac for Rengber Kalash and Shivan Batifi for Sizar Ayoub. For Götene IF, Fredrik Hansson came in for Robin Johansson in the same minute.
A goal fest was on the way, and in the 73rd minute, Götene made a substitution, bringing Johan Höjer in for Oscar Hansson. Zlatko Dervisevic of Gunnilse received a yellow card in the 74th minute. Viktor Callerud was substituted in for Götene IF instead of Christoffer Apell in the 80th minute. But it was Ali Selim who was on fire again during the match, completing his hat trick with his third goal in the 83rd minute.
However, a dramatic ending was about to unfold. Andreas Elvelind reduced for Götene IF in the 86th minute, and Josef Rydberg received a yellow card in the 87th minute. In the 90th minute, Bujar Avdijaj received a yellow card for Gunnilse, and Shivan Batifi was sent off and had to leave the field. Josef Rydberg also received a yellow card and then a red card, resulting in his ejection as well. But by then, Oskar Johansson had managed to score the equalizer for Götene IF, and the match ended 3-3.
Gunnilse IS placed eighth in the standings while Götene IF remained at the bottom. It was an exciting and close match that both teams will surely remember for a long time.
