Match in Division 2 Västra Götaland, men 2022
Match start: 2022-08-12 at 19:00
Venue: Ruddalen 1 Konstgräs
Assyriska BK and Västra Frölunda IF met on Friday evening in a heated Division 2 match at Ruddalen 1 Artificial Grass. The crowd was absent, but that did not stop the home team from taking the lead just three minutes in with a goal from Daniel Albano Neves. Assyriska received an early warning, and Västra Frölunda responded with a warning just a minute later. They quickly equalized through Arjanit Sumiqi, and the match stood at 1-1 after fifteen minutes.
At halftime, the home team opted to substitute Albin Kannenberg for Alex Larsson, and the match continued to be filled with hard tackles. Västra Frölunda received a warning four minutes in and then substituted Niklas Engberg for fresh legs in the form of Adam Bjerkhede and Noah Mannerström Egvik. Axel Gunnarsson was also substituted in shortly after.
Assyriska brought Eddie Ottosson on for Lukas Johansson, and Västra Frölunda substituted Paul Nyman for Arjanit Sumiqi. With fifteen minutes remaining in the match, Assyriska managed to take the lead again through Kim Dickson's penalty goal. They also substituted Ramsin Khoshaba Youkhanna for Lucas Isacksson, who would play for the rest of the match.
Tension mounted towards the end of the match when both Ramsin Khoshaba Youkhanna and Daniel Carlsson received warnings, and then Carlsson was sent off just before the ninetieth minute. However, despite being one man down, Västra Frölunda managed to score an equalizer through Jakob Sellhed's header in stoppage time to save a point for his team. The match ended 2-2, which was likely a disappointment for Assyriska, who after their victory over Utsiktens BK had hoped for a three-pointer to climb the table.
