It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Hedevi 1 when Ullareds IK faced Onsala BK in Division 2 Västra Götaland, men's. In front of a relatively small crowd of just 54 people, exciting 90 minutes of football awaited.
The match started evenly with both teams trying to take control. It wasn't until the 31st minute that the first yellow card was issued, to the home team’s Edward Larsson. Onsala got their turn to collect a yellow when Sebastian Heaver received one in the 57th minute.
However, Onsala BK would prove to be better at taking chances when they arose. In the 59th minute, the first goal came when David Bruno Berntsson made it 0-1. The crowd cheered, but Ullareds IK showed no signs of giving up.
Both teams made several substitutions in search of a breakthrough. One substitution would turn out to be especially decisive for Onsala when Magnus Johansson was substituted in the 61st minute. Just three minutes later, his teammate Oskar Käll managed to score 0-2 in the 74th minute.
Onsala, however, did not want to settle for that and finished the match very strongly. Two more goals would be scored before referee Jovan Bjelajac blew the final whistle. David Bruno Berntsson scored his second goal of the match in the 82nd minute before Hampus Ekdahl made it 0-4 late in stoppage time.
It was a strong win for Onsala BK, who can move forward with their heads held high into the next match. Ullareds IK will have to go back to the drawing board and take the lessons from this match with them.
