On Saturday afternoon, an exciting match took place between Eda IF and Gideonsbergs IF at Hammarsvallen. While Eda was in fifth place in the standings, Gideonsberg was leading the league ahead of the match.
With an audience of 200 people and referee Anna Nyberg along with assistant referees Wilmer Qvarnström and Milad Anwari, the match was ready to kick off.
It wasn't until the 44th minute that the first goal was scored, coming from the visiting team. Jennifer Forsman Ekfeldt netted the ball after a header, giving Gideonsberg a 0-1 lead.
However, just three minutes into the second half, Eda equalized. Alice Johansson found the back of the net, and the match was now level again.
It didn't take long for Eda to take the lead. Elsa Dalberg scored in the 57th minute, putting the home team ahead 2-1.
Gideonsberg desperately tried to equalize, but instead, they received a warning in the 60th minute when Kajsa Hall Wistling was cautioned.
Eda's Julia Martinsson scored two goals in ten minutes, putting the match completely out of reach for Gideonsberg. First in the 68th minute and then again in the 84th, resulting in a final score of 4-1 in favor of Eda IF.
After the match, Eda strengthened their position in the standings, while Gideonsberg lost some of their lead. A win that was certainly celebrated by the players and the 200 fans in attendance.
