Götene IF achieved an important victory in Division 3 Mellersta Götaland when they defeated IFK Skövde FK 2-1 at Västerby IP on Thursday evening.

The match started relatively evenly, but it was Götene IF who took the lead in the 16th minute through Johan Karlsson. IFK Skövde FK quickly responded, and Amer Ibrahimovic equalized with a goal in the 49th minute.

However, Götene IF regained the lead just six minutes later when Johan Karlsson scored his second goal of the evening in the 55th minute.

IFK Skövde FK tried to come back into the match and made a couple of substitutions to create new chances, but Götene IF defended well and kept their lead intact.

Towards the end of the match, Götene IF received two yellow cards, one for Johan Karlsson and one for Oscar Strid, but they managed to hold on and secure three important points.

Despite the intense play on the field, the attendance was zero, which was a shame because it was an exciting match to witness. Referee Albert Mustafa had good control of the match and maintained a high level of play.
