Tidaholms GoIF took the lead just six minutes into the match through Max Persson. Ödsmåls IK tried to get back into the game, but it became more difficult after Filip Bergholtz was sent off with a red card in the 36th minute. Tidaholms continued to create dangerous chances, and Albin Hoffman received a warning in the 41st minute.

However, Ödsmåls IK fought on, and just before halftime, Behar Tahiri managed to equalize to 1-1, which gave hope for the second half.
