Last Sunday, Mariehem SK faced off against Matfors IF in Division 3 Mellersta Norrland for men at MSK Arena. Unfortunately, no spectators were allowed on site due to Covid-19. The refereeing team consisted of Joel Störvold, with Henning Lövgren and Viktor Jonsson as assistants.

The match began with intense play and some hard tackles from both sides. After only 11 minutes, Seroud Baroshki from Mariehem SK received a warning. Just over 20 minutes into the match, Joakim Valjemot was substituted, and Jens Olofsson came on. Five minutes later, Matfors IF’s Phaniel Kakopande also received a warning. Shortly thereafter, Matfors IF was awarded a penalty, which Robin Bergman converted into a goal. After this, it felt like Matfors IF had more control over the match. Ebrima Daffeh from Mariehem SK received his second warning and left the field.

As the second half began, Matfors IF continued to apply pressure on the events happening on the field. Robin Bergman scored his second goal, making it Matfors IF’s second goal of the match. Rasmus Portin from Matfors IF also received a warning. Mariehem SK's coach, Bengt Lundquist, was issued a warning as well, which intensified the pressure on Mariehem SK, prompting them to make several substitutions. Edvin Eriksson came on for Alexander Nilsson, Erik Söderström for Ebrima Daffeh, and Viktor Hansson for Thomas Ghebre Medhin. Matfors IF also made a substitution, with Gustav Lange coming on and Phaniel Kakopande leaving the field.

Mariehem SK continued to push forward, and after 72 minutes, Isak Brohlin scored the team’s first goal. Mariehem SK fought harder and harder, and after 80 minutes, Edvin Eriksson equalized at 2-2. Mariehem SK made another substitution when Viktor Hansson replaced Thomas Ghebre Medhin. However, Edvin Eriksson couldn’t avoid receiving a warning almost immediately after the goal.

The match ended 2-2 at MSK Arena between Mariehem SK and Matfors IF. It was truly a thrilling match, with four goals and seven warnings. Despite a strong start for Matfors IF, Mariehem SK managed to come back and secure a draw.
