Högsby IK finished this year's season in style when they faced Myresjö/Vetlanda FK on Sunday afternoon at Arena Ulf Davidson 1. Although Myresjö/Vetlanda FK started strong and Mladen Bucanin scored an early goal in the 17th minute, Högsby continued to fight on. Eric Klein from Myresjö/Vetlanda FK received a yellow card in the 21st minute, and just three minutes later, Albin Karlsson increased the lead to 0-2 with a header. However, Högsby IK did not lose heart, and Hampus Savolainen scored a nice goal in the 31st minute, reducing the deficit to 1-2.
The second half was completely dominated by Högsby IK, and it didn’t take long for Ibrahim Kalilu Fofanah to score two goals in quick succession in the 50th and 53rd minutes, turning the match around to 3-2. Myresjö/Vetlanda FK tried to substitute Tarek Alnator and Sammi Raad, but Högsby IK continued to dominate the play. Samuel Haglund was substituted in for Högsby IK in the 66th minute to prevent Myresjö/Vetlanda FK from equalizing, which was successful. Instead, Kalilu Fofanah scored a third goal for Högsby IK in the 85th minute, completing a hat trick and setting the final score at 4-2. David Petersson was brought in for Högsby IK in the 87th minute, and despite yellow cards for Hampus Savolainen in the 90th minute, Högsby IK secured an impressive victory. The season is now finished, with Högsby IK finishing in 9th place in the standings, while Myresjö/Vetlanda FK placed 3rd.
