BK Ljungsbro started strong at home and took the lead just 17 minutes into the match with a nice finish from Nils Lindsten. Hvetlanda GIF tried to respond but struggled to threaten the home team. Early in the second half, Oscar Kröger made it 2-0 for Ljungsbro with a fine header. Shortly after, Lindsten scored his second goal of the evening, bringing the score to 3-0 for Ljungsbro.

Hvetlanda GIF attempted to bring on new players in search of a change, but it didn’t help much. Ljungsbro continued to dominate, and David Lundgren made it 4-0 for Ljungsbro. Hvetlanda GIF’s goalkeeper coach, Fredrik Folkesson, received a warning after protesting against the referee's decision. Despite a missed penalty by Ljungsbro in the 80th minute, Oscar Kröger scored his second goal of the evening, making it 5-0 for Ljungsbro in the 87th minute.
