The match began intensely, and just 5 minutes in, Melleruds IF took the lead through Valon Gashi. However, Åsebro IF showed fighting spirit and equalized to 1-1 with a penalty by Martin Scherdin in the 14th minute. Melleruds IF continued to press, and Kreshnik Bytyqi made it 2-1 just before halftime.
In the second half, goals continued to come in. Viktor Mollapolci equalized for Åsebro IF, but it was Melleruds IF who would prevail. Christoffer Lundh scored 3-2 in the 71st minute, and Åsebro IF then played with one man less after Martin Scherdin was sent off.
Valon Gashi remained prominent and scored his second goal of the night in the 83rd minute. Markus Svensson and Melleruds IF secured the victory with a 5-2 goal in the 90th minute.
