But IFK Mariestad kept fighting, and in the 25th minute, Nils Sjögren scored with a header, reducing the score to 2-1.
Towards the end of the first half, Simon Möller from IFK Mariestad received a caution, but that did not deter him from equalizing to 2-2 in the 35th minute with another header. Just four minutes later, Johan Ewerlöf scored another header and gave the away team a 2-3 lead.
IFK Tidaholm tried to get back into the match, and Sebastian Selkälä and Christian Lahdo received warnings as they pushed on. Before the second half, the home team made a substitution where Carlos Lazar came on for Christian Lahdo.
