Göta BK welcomed IFK Mariestad to their home ground at Ryrsjövallen in front of a modest crowd of 100 spectators. After a first half where the play was evenly matched and chances were few, it was Göta who took the lead just before halftime following a warning for Chris Norberg. Sevdan Alija scored and Göta went into the second half with a 1-0 advantage.

In the second half, Göta stepped up their game, and it didn't take long before Alija scored his second goal of the day, increasing the lead to 2-0. IFK Mariestad continued to fight, and after a double substitution in the 68th minute, they gained new energy, with Lorik Bunjaku reducing the deficit to 2-1. Göta substituted Viktor Josefsson for Diego Sebastian Navarro Cancino to try to strengthen their defense.

IFK Mariestad pressed forward in the final minutes, but Göta's defense held firm, and they brought in Casper Lundin and Haris Okovic to secure the match. In the 90th minute, Marko Nikic sealed the game, and Göta won 3-1, claiming their first victory in six matches. Göta is now second to last in the table, while IFK Mariestad remains in sixth place despite the loss. The referee for the match was Martin Jonsson, with assistant referees Jon Eriksson and Tobias Axelsson.
