On Friday evening, IK Kongahälla faced Alingsås IF FF at Kongevi 1 Artificial Turf in front of an empty stadium. Before the match, there wasn’t much separating the teams as IK Kongahälla was in third place and Alingsås IF FF was in second place in Division 3 Nordvästra Götaland for men.
Already after three minutes, Haris Skenderovic put the ball in the net for the home team, and just ten minutes later, Buba Sanyang increased the lead to 2-0 for IK Kongahälla. Marko Simonović received a yellow card in the 18th minute, and only 18 minutes later, Buba Sanyang also received his first yellow card of the match.
Just before halftime, Alingsås IF FF wanted to make a substitution, replacing Victor Ohlson with Gustav Björkroth. Nevertheless, it was IK Kongahälla's Haris Skenderovic who shone in the second half, first extending the lead to 3-0 just four minutes into the half. Immediately after that, Skenderovic completed his hat-trick by netting the ball for the fourth time in the match.
Alingsås IF FF made two substitutions after an hour of play, but it was IK Kongahälla that continued to dominate the match. Rasmus Hegab scored the team’s fifth goal in the 60th minute, and IK Kongahälla then made three substitutions in the last 20 minutes. Alingsås IF FF tried to reduce the score with two late substitutions, but the match ultimately ended 5-0 in favor of the home team.
Referee Victor Karimi had a calm match with only two yellow cards, one for each team, and no dismissals. It was an impressive victory for IK Kongahälla, who now move ahead of Alingsås IF FF in the standings and are seriously challenging for the top of the league.
