IFK Kalix took a step closer to winning the league when they faced Notvikens IK on Sunday afternoon at Tunavallen. After a tough match, IFK Kalix emerged victorious with a score of 2-1.
The match began with a closely contested battle between the teams, but it was IFK Kalix who took the lead after 41 minutes. Johannes Nilsson scored a beautiful free-kick goal that placed the ball just behind the Notvikens IK goalkeeper.
Notvikens IK tried to equalize and brought in Calle Jonsson at halftime to add more offensive power. At this point, IFK Kalix also received their first warning when David Olofsson was booked.
The tension rose when Notvikens IK's Robert Lidhammar received a caution in the 65th minute. In the same minute, IFK Kalix's Daniel Gälman was also shown a yellow card.
However, the match took an unexpected turn in the 74th minute when IFK Kalix lost Alex Öberg Koivumaa to a red card. Despite this, IFK Kalix continued to fight and kept the ball away from their own goal area.
It wasn't until the 75th minute that Notvikens IK was able to equalize to 1-1 with a free-kick goal from Calle Jonsson.
However, IFK Kalix responded quickly, and just a few minutes later, in the 84th minute, Eric Juntti scored a beautiful header to give his team a 2-1 lead.
Notvikens IK continued to fight for a goal to equalize, but in the 90th minute, Yassine Assam received a second warning and was sent off the field. Despite several attempts from Notvikens IK, IFK Kalix managed to maintain their lead and won the match 2-1.
With this victory, IFK Kalix finished the season in an impressive second place, while Notvikens IK ended up in fifth place on the table.
