On a autumn Sunday afternoon at Råby IP 3, it was to be decided which team would emerge as the champions of Division 3 Norra Svealand this year. The spectators present witnessed two in-form teams, where IK Franke and Enköpings SK FK were set to compete for three points.
It was the home team, Franke, that started the match by taking the initiative, but the away team, Enköping, proved to be more effective in the first half. After 32 minutes, it was Enköping's turn to step up, and they were awarded a penalty. Tristan Korrar confidently stepped up and scored, placing the ball safely behind Franke's goalkeeper. 1-0 to the away team.
However, IK Franke was not going to be discouraged by the setback. Just a few minutes later, after a fine attack, Eric Engström managed to equalize. 1-1 and the match was wide open again. The half continued with challenges on both ends, but neither team managed to find the back of the net again before halftime.
At the break, IK Franke made a substitution, bringing in David Carlson to replace Gustav Torseng. Perhaps the home team thought this would provide them with more offensive strength? But it was instead the away team, Enköping, that would take control of the match. Just ten minutes into the second half, Pontus Lundén found the net, and Enköping took the lead once more.
Then Enköping quickly increased their lead. Jonathan Böckert scored their third goal in the 64th minute, and just five minutes later, it was again Willy Wickman who extended the lead to 4-1 for the away team.
IK Franke kept fighting, but today it would be Enköping that emerged victorious from the contest. A tough end to the season for the home team, which finished in fourth place in the table, while Enköping could celebrate their championship win.
The match offered some thrilling moments, but Enköping's more effective attacking play proved to be decisive. In the end, the score was 1-4 on the scoreboard. It was then time to report the final result to the 99 spectators in attendance, who perhaps did not witness the dramatic game they had hoped for. Now, it was time for both teams to gather themselves and reflect on the season that had been, and prepare for next year's adventures.
