It was a glorious Saturday afternoon when the Division 3 Östra Svealand men met at Mälarhöjdens IP 1. The home team, Mälarhöjdens IK, took the lead in the 19th minute when Martin Granelund stylishly scored 1-0. They continued to dominate and increased their lead in the 34th minute through Fredrik Hellström, making it 2-0.
IK Tellus tried to come back into the match and brought in David Sjöberg in the 41st minute. However, Mälarhöjdens IK defended strongly and kept IK Tellus away from the goal area.
Tobias Schüttman received a yellow card in the 60th minute, followed by Tommy Hasselrot who also got a yellow card in the 66th minute. Mälarhöjdens IK maintained full control of the game and substituted Youness Sohlberg in the 76th minute.
IK Tellus finally found the net in the 78th minute through Tobias Schüttman, reducing the score to 2-1. But Mälarhöjdens IK responded strongly and increased their lead in the 80th minute thanks to Mattias Larsson. The home team continued to press on and scored another goal in the 88th minute, this time by Youness Sohlberg, who sealed the final score at 4-1.
Fredrik Hellström received a yellow card in the 81st minute, and Gert Peter Brattén was cautioned for IK Tellus in the 89th minute. Mälarhöjdens IK dominated the match and thus left the field as winners.
After the match, it was revealed that the season was over, with Mälarhöjdens IK finishing in 9th place in the league table while IK Tellus ended up in 8th place. It was a worthy conclusion to an exciting season.
