Märsta IK secured an important away victory when they visited Viksjövallen 1 to face IFK Viksjö on Saturday afternoon. With only 84 people in attendance, the atmosphere was a bit dull, but that didn’t stop both teams from giving their all.
The match kicked off, and it didn’t take long for the first yellow card to appear. It was Märsta IK's Mass Khan who received a warning in the fifth minute. IFK Viksjö quickly responded with a yellow card of their own when Ali Al-Mosawi was booked in the thirtieth minute.
In the thirty-sixth minute, IFK Viksjö made a substitution, bringing Oliver Arousell on for Niklas Karlsson. However, this couldn't prevent Märsta IK from scoring the first goal of the match when IFK Viksjö accidentally scored an own goal in the forty-eighth minute.
Both teams made substitutions, but it was Märsta who would score the next goal in the match through Kabbah Sayon Glahn in the seventy-eighth minute, taking them to a 2-1 lead.
IFK Viksjö fought hard to come back, and in the sixty-seventh minute, they did so thanks to Adam Westin. However, it wasn't enough for a point, and the match ultimately ended 2-1 in favor of Märsta IK.
The match was not without controversy, as Joakim Lindblad from Märsta received two yellow cards and was sent off in the eighty-sixth minute. IFK Viksjö's Lukas Elmhammar also managed to get booked in the eighty-ninth minute.
Märsta IK can be satisfied with the victory, while IFK Viksjö will need to find their way back to winning ways in their upcoming match.
