It was an afternoon where two teams met at Vejby IP A-Plan in one of the hottest matches of the season. Vejby IF faced Röke IF in a Division 3 Skåne Norra match for women. An audience of 50 people had taken their seats in the stands to support their favorite teams.
The match had just started when enormous pressure was applied by both teams. However, Röke IF quickly found an opening in Vejby’s defense, and in the 19th minute, Linnéa Jonasson got her foot on the ball and sent it into the net! Vejby’s keeper stood still and couldn’t do anything about it.
Before long, Vejby lost ground, and Röke continued to battle with high intensity. In the 56th minute, it was Elsa Gustafsson who was near the ball and shot it in, resulting in another goal for Röke IF! Vejby played well but could not find a way back into the match.
After both goals from Röke IF, it was Vejby’s turn to wake up. They pressed hard and tried everything to come back into the match. Almi Palmér became Vejby’s savior in the 89th minute when she sent the ball into the net, scoring their only goal of the match!
Unfortunately, it wasn't enough for Vejby IF as the match ended with Röke IF winning 2 - 1. It was a high-drama match in Division 3 Skåne Norra that both fans and players will not soon forget. The referee, Tindra Nilsson, did a great job throughout the match.
