Husiegårds IP was well-attended when Husie IF hosted Furulunds IK in one of the most exciting matches in Division 3 Skåne Västra for women. It was a lovely Saturday afternoon when the match started, and the spectators were ready for a football celebration.
The match was officiated by Vlatko Kralev, and it looked like Husie was off to a good start, but it was Furulunds IK who took the lead in the 17th minute through Isabelle Henriksson. However, Husie was not willing to give up, and Julia Jönsson Chapple equalized shortly after.
But Furulunds IK proved to be too strong for Husie, and it didn't take long before Thea Igelström made it 2-1. Annie Paulsson extended the lead to 3-1, and Sandra Welander struck again just before halftime, making it 4-1 to Furulunds IK.
The second half was a nightmare for Husie as Maja Pettersson scored to make it 5-1, and it was far from over. Sandra Welander netted her second goal of the match, closely followed by Lina Berglund and Amanda Willas, who each added a goal.
Despite it looking like a sure victory for Furulunds IK, Husie never gave up, and Parina Askari managed to score the second goal for Husie, although the final result ended up being 2-8 in favor of Furulunds IK. A high-scoring match that showcased just how good Furulunds IK is, but Husie IF will surely seek to redeem themselves in upcoming matches.
