It was a sunny afternoon at Ringvallen when Lagans AIK welcomed ÖIS/Vista in Division 3 Småland Nordvästra, women’s league. A relatively small crowd of 70 people had turned out to watch the match. Referee Zbigniew Wladyko blew the whistle to start the game at 16:00, and it didn’t take long before the first goal was scored.

After just 13 minutes, a corner was played in that ÖIS/Vista failed to clear. The ball instead ended up at the feet of a playing coach for Lagans AIK, Ellen Svanholm, who calmly placed it into the net to make it 1-0, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance. ÖIS/Vista tried to set up their game but struggled to get through against a skillful Lagans AIK.

With half an hour played, Lagans AIK was awarded a free kick just outside the penalty area. The ball was played in and hit a hand in the wall. The referee did not hesitate and firmly pointed to the penalty spot. Ellen Svanholm stepped up and confidently scored to make it 2-0 for the home team. ÖIS/Vista again attempted to regain their footing, but continued to find it difficult to break through against a solidly defending Lagans AIK.

With fifteen minutes left on the clock, Ella Sigfridsson from Lagans AIK received a warning after delivering a tough tackle. But that didn’t stop the home team from continuing to push forward. With five minutes left in the match, Linn Hansson from the home team made it 3-0 after a nice cross from the side.

The match was now definitely decided, and Lagans AIK could securely keep a clean sheet and take home all three points. The match ended 3-0 in favor of Lagans AIK. A well-playing home team that controlled the match from start to finish and earned a deserved victory.
