Växjö BK B and Tingsryd United FC met at Sportfältet Teleborg on Sunday evening for a Division 3 Småland Södra match in the women's league. Only 50 people had made their way to the arena to watch both teams fight for three points. Referee Akram Kiweewa blew the whistle to start the match at 5:00 PM.
The match began cautiously as both teams tried to find their rhythm. However, it didn’t take long before Växjö BK B launched their first serious attack on Tingsryd's goal. It was Alice Kaltin who managed to find the back of the net following a fine pass from one of the team's center-backs. The score stood at 1-0 to the home team.
Tingsryd United FC, however, would not be easily defeated and continued to pressure Växjö's defense. After a well-placed long ball from midfield, Smilla Åkesson volleyed the ball into the goal. Tingsryd had once again found balance in the game.
After some frustrating moments and heavy breathing from both teams, Alice Kaltin decided to take matters into her own hands once more and scored again. Kaltin managed to curl the ball in from the penalty area, and Växjö now led again with 2-1.
Tingsryd continued to fight and struggle, and eventually, their efforts paid off. After a nice counterattack and a clever pass between two midfielders, Anna Petersson seized the ball just outside the penalty area and shot it into the away goal. The score was now 2-2, and it didn’t look like either team would manage to score the decisive goal.
The match didn’t end in that manner, and the final score was 2-2. Both teams had played a tough and evenly matched game and were able to share the points. The players and coaches thanked each other for the match before the crowd headed home.
