Malmö City FC started the match strongly and took the lead just 15 minutes in with a goal from Adam Fakhro. Just a few minutes later, they increased their lead to 2-0 with Kristian Legiec, and Valmir Mulaj extended it to 3-0 after 27 minutes.

FC Trelleborg tried to get back into the match, reducing the score to 1-3 with a goal from Johan Palmström in the 40th minute. Despite several attempts from both teams, the score remained unchanged until halftime.
