It was an exciting afternoon at Vellinge IP A-plan when Vellinge IF faced GIF Nike in Division 3 Södra Götaland for men. About 50 spectators were present to follow the match, which was officiated by Igno Andovski with assistance from Bujar Fetiu and Kenan Camo.
Just three minutes into the match, Vellinge IF got off to a dream start when Alexander Engbe scored to make it 1-0. GIF Nike tried to counter, but it was Vellinge IF that had the better pressure on the ball. After half an hour of play, Vellinge IF increased their lead to 2-0 through scorer Carl Wreme. Just before halftime, Wreme found the net again, making it 3-0.
After the break, Vellinge IF continued to dominate, and it took only three minutes before Mattias Hansson made it 4-0. A minute later, Wreme scored his third goal of the day, completing his hat trick. Following this impressive performance from Vellinge IF, the coach made a double substitution, bringing in Marcus Hansson and Edrisa Jallow.
Then came a few warnings for both teams and a handful of substitutions before Vellinge IF found the net once again through Walter Kruse in the 71st minute. Vellinge IF was then able to see out the match, triumphantly adding to the score with a final tally of 7-0 on the scoreboard.
There was no doubt that Vellinge IF was the stronger team, playing fantastic football. GIF Nike struggled to keep up, which was evident in the final result. Vellinge IF and their coach can be proud of their performance, and the results of the day bode well for future matches.
