Fagersta Södra IK managed to turn the match around against Avesta AIK on Wednesday evening at Avestavallen Artificial Turf in Division 3 Södra Norrland. Despite the match being played in front of an audience of zero, both teams provided a truly exciting game.
The match got off to a fast start when the home team, Avesta AIK, took the lead as early as the fifth minute through Axel Östberg. The goal came from a header and gave Avesta a dream start.
After the goal, Avesta continued to push forward and had a couple of very dangerous situations in front of Fagersta’s goal. However, it was the away team that would score the next goal. In the 40th minute, Ilyas Abdullahi Hirsi equalized and brought Fagersta back into the game.
After the halftime break, Avesta made a substitution, with Adam Östberg replacing Benjamin Larsson. Fagersta would not make any further substitutions until the 67th minute, when Nowroze Ali Bostan Ali replaced Sebastian Jansson and Antonio Roca Ocampo substituted Mergim Ramadani.
It was in the 77th minute that Fagersta took the lead when Max Holmberg found the back of the net. Avesta desperately tried to equalize, but they were unsuccessful. Instead, the team made a substitution in the 78th minute, with Ludwig Wallertz replacing Simon Sundin. Fagersta made two substitutions in the same minute; Arvid Andersson replaced Ilyas Abdullahi Hirsi and Pawel Gentek took over from Max Holmberg.
The match had a few short interruptions due to various situations, where a sending-off seemed imminent, but it did not occur. Adam Tumma from Avesta received a yellow card in the 90th minute for a tough tackle, and in the fourth minute of stoppage time, Arman Poghosyan from Fagersta was cautioned for a similar offense.
The match concluded with a score of 2-1 in favor of Fagersta Södra IK, who thus took home three points from the away match against Avesta AIK.
