Avesta AIK won a dramatic match against Slätta SK with a score of 2-1 at home on Saturday evening. In front of an audience of just under 100 at Avestavallen Artificial Turf, the home team started strong and took the lead with a fine individual effort from Omar Mohamud Mohamed in the 15th minute. However, the visitors fought their way back into the match and equalized in the 53rd minute through Max Eidet.
The match then became more open, and both teams found each other well, but it was still Avesta that controlled the tempo for most of the game. In the 88th minute, the home team was able to decide the match after Adam Tumma neatly finished off a nice attack, putting the ball in the net for 2-1.
The match featured quite a few ugly tackles, and referee Kalle Jansson had his hands full trying to keep the players in check. Both David Norgren from Slätta and Khalid Mohamud Mohamed from Avesta found themselves in trouble with a yellow card each.
The match concluded dramatically when Omar Mohamud Mohamed from Avesta AIK received a red card for a violent tackle in the 84th minute. However, Slätta SK would not be outdone, and in the ensuing sequence, Arda Güclü also received a red card. Avesta AIK managed to hold on and won the match 2-1. Avesta AIK is currently second to last in the standings, while Slätta SK occupies the 10th place.
