Älmhults IF claimed a well-deserved victory as they defeated Växjö Norra IF 3-1 at Älmekulla 1 on Sunday afternoon. In front of a crowd of 225 spectators, Älmhult started strong and took the lead after just eight minutes when Kalle Johansson headed the ball into the net. Växjö Norra tried to get back into the game, but struggled to create any real threats going forward.

Just like in the first half, Älmhult dominated the second half as well. After 70 minutes, they extended their lead to 2-0 with a nice goal from André Lassen. Växjö Norra attempted once again to turn the match around and reduced the deficit in the 80th minute through Julius Croby Edh, but it was not enough.

In the final moments of the match, Älmhult struck again when William Thellsson scored a beautiful goal, sealing the final score at 3-1. Despite two yellow cards in the second half, Älmhults IF managed to withstand the pressure from their opponents and win the match.

With this victory, Älmhults IF now sits in second place in Division 3 Sydöstra Götaland, while Växjö Norra IF is in ninth place. Älmhults IF's next match will take place on October 2, when they face Rydaholms GoIF away. Växjö Norra IF will play their next match against IFK Karlshamn at home on October 1.
