On Tuesday evening, it was time for an exciting match in Division 3 Västerbotten North for women between the home team Skellefteå FF and visiting Clemensnäs IF. The match took place at Electrolux Home Arena in front of an audience of 110 people and was officiated by Martin Pettersson.
The match started at a high tempo, with both teams showing early on that they were there to fight. However, it was the home team that had the first opportunity to score when a nice pass from the midfield reached Tove Eriksson, who stayed in front of the defenders and managed to send the ball into the net in the 44th minute. Skellefteå FF thus took the lead with 1-0, which was also the halftime score.
The second half continued in the same spirit, with fast-paced and aggressive play from both teams. However, it was Clemensnäs IF that had the most ball possession and pressed on to equalize. It would take until the 81st minute before they finally succeeded, when Wilma Vidmark made a fine effort and placed the ball in the top corner of the net, meaning that the teams were now equal.
The match continued with intense play and several chances for both teams, but neither of them managed to put the ball in the net and thus the match ended 1-1.
Skellefteå FF’s goalscorer, Tove Eriksson, was proud of the performance despite not managing to win. "We fought well throughout the match and I am happy with my goal. Clemensnäs was tough opposition but we played well," she said after the match.
Clemensnäs IF’s goalscorer, Wilma Vidmark, was also pleased with the performance and happy to have scored. "It was a tough match but we fought our way back and managed to score in the last minute. I am proud of the performance," she said after the match.
Both teams left the field satisfied with one point each and are now looking forward to the upcoming matches in Division 3 Västerbotten North.
