Sils IF faced Skultorps IF U in an exciting match in Division 3 Västergötland Östra for women on Monday evening at Silbohof A-plan. With a sadly absent crowd due to Corona restrictions, it was up to the players to make the match a memorable evening.
The match began with a fairly even distribution of ball possession, but Sils IF had a clear game plan and applied pressure on Skultorps IF U. It didn’t take long before Sils IF managed to score the first goal of the match. After just 15 minutes of play, Sils IF's Alexia Svensson passed the ball to Lina Andersson, who made no mistake and placed the ball in the net behind Skultorps IF U's goalkeeper.
Sils IF continued with their high pressure, making it difficult for Skultorps IF U to create any dangerous scoring opportunities. Despite many attempts from Skultorps IF U to score, the goalkeeper Elin Johansson kept a clean sheet.
In the second half, Sils IF continued to dominate the game, and once again they struck, scoring their second goal. After a nice collaboration from the forwards, Alexandra Varg passed the ball to an open space and shot perfectly into the net.
Sils IF kept applying high pressure, and Skultorps IF U struggled to gain control of the ball. Sils IF's Sara Andersson scored the third and final goal of the match with a beautiful volley into the right corner after capitalizing on a missed clearance from Skultorp’s defense.
The match ended 3-0 in favor of Sils IF. Despite Skultorps IF U fighting hard to get back into the match, the leaders were dominant. Sils IF was a well-organized and skillful team that deserved the victory. Sils IF's next match is against IFK Tidaholm, while Skultorps IF U will face Snöstorp Nyhem FF.
