IK Gauthiod achieved a decisive victory in Sunday’s match against IK Frisco U at Lunnevi IP A-plan in front of an audience of 102 spectators. Agnes Österberg was the standout hero for Gauthiod as she scored a hat trick in the first half. After just three minutes of play, she netted the first goal for the home team. Österberg's second and third goals came in the 20th and 28th minutes, respectively.
Frisco U tried to get back into the match but struggled to create dangerous chances. Instead, it was Gauthiod who dominated, and in the 73rd minute, the goal that settled the match came when Hilma Andersson found the net. In the 83rd minute, Ida Mörk increased the lead to 5-0, making it look like Gauthiod would secure a clean victory.
However, Frisco U did not want to give up, and in the 84th minute, Lovisa Närhi scored a consolation goal for the away team. But Gauthiod wanted to finish the match on a high note, and in the 88th minute, Lily Löwing made it 6-1 for the home team.
The match also saw a number of warnings, with Lisa Gegerfelt and Elina Närhi from Frisco U each receiving a yellow card. Gauthiod's Stina Bengtsson also received a warning after 90 minutes of play.
With this victory, IK Gauthiod solidified their position as the league leaders in Division 3 Västergötland Västra. Frisco U currently sits near the bottom of the table and will need a stronger second half of the season if they wish to avoid relegation.
