On Saturday afternoon, Märserums IF and Sillhövda AIK met in a tough and gritty match at Märserums IP. Unfortunately, the arena was empty of spectators, but that did not stop the teams from giving their best.
Referee Vilmer Arrskog had a good grip on the match along with assistant referees Ermin Zubcevic and Ahmad Al Ali. However, it was Sillhövda AIK that got off to a great start. Already after eleven minutes, Tobias Gneupel scored the first goal for the visitors.
Märserums IF fought on but struggled to establish any real danger in the attack. Instead, it was Sillhövda AIK that extended their lead when Mandus Brinkehed scored with a header in the sixteenth minute and then another in the fifty-sixth minute.
Märserums IF had a word with the referee in the thirty-fourth minute when Henrik Nilsson received a yellow card. Then it was Emanuel Moberg Håkansson's turn to receive a yellow card for Sillhövda AIK. In the fifty-fifth minute, Dennis Knutsson from Märserums IF also received a yellow card.
Sillhövda AIK was hungry for more goals and got their wish fulfilled when Holgersson scored the fourth goal in the seventieth minute. Märserums IF desperately tried to fight back, but it was too late.
The match took a turn for the worse for Märserums IF when Oskar Isaksson was sent off in the eighty-third minute after a violent tackle. Then, in the eighty-fourth minute, Mandus Brinkehed scored his third goal of the evening, completing a hat trick for Sillhövda AIK.
Henrik Nilsson received a second yellow card in the eighty-ninth minute and was also sent off. Märserums IF was now down to nine men and had no chance to get back into the match. Instead, it was Daniel Kumlin who finished off the match with a beautiful strike, scoring the sixth and final goal for Sillhövda AIK in the ninety-third minute.
The final whistle blew, and Sillhövda AIK won the match 6-0. Märserums IF had done their best, but it was Sillhövda AIK that had the upper hand throughout the match. A heavy defeat for the home team but a well-played game from both sides.
