It was a sunny Sunday afternoon at Rydsbergsplan 1 Artificial Turf when Lerums IS (U) faced IK Zenith (B) in Division 4 Göteborg B for women. Expectations were high from both teams after a tough week of training. The match started with strong play, and both teams were on their guard. The attendance was 55 people, creating a lovely atmosphere on the field.
However, it was IK Zenith (B) that started the strongest and showed the desire to win. Already after 15 minutes, Ellen Richardson scored her first goal, giving her team a 0-1 lead. Lerums IS (U) fought to catch up, but it was IK Zenith (B) that was the stronger team throughout the match.
It didn't take long for IK Zenith (B) to extend their lead. Elin Dristig scored her first goal after 24 minutes, and just four minutes later, Ellen Richardson scored her second goal of the day. With a 0-3 lead, IK Zenith (B) continued to work hard to maintain their advantage.
Klara Benson scored her first goal after 35 minutes, giving IK Zenith (B) an additional boost heading into the second half. Lerums IS (U) tried to respond, and after 52 minutes, Nora Mellberg put the ball in the net, giving her team a consolation goal at 1-4.
IK Zenith (B) continued to press, and after 76 minutes, Elin Dristig scored her second goal. Just a few minutes later, she completed her hat-trick by scoring her third goal of the day after 81 minutes. It was an absolutely stunning performance from her! With only seven minutes left in the match, she scored her fourth goal of the day, bringing the final score to 1-7 in favor of IK Zenith (B).
The match ended with IK Zenith (B) winning comfortably, securing a much-needed victory after a tough loss last week. Referee Goran Somodji, along with his assistants Amir Hadzic and Mustafa Cakir, did an excellent job and kept the game fair and balanced. It was a delightful Sunday afternoon with high-level football!
