Lerkils IF defeated IFK Fjärås with a score of 2-5 in Friday's match at Ögärdets IP A. The first half of the match was somewhat of a passive display from both teams, with the only highlight coming from an own goal by IFK Fjärås in the fifteenth minute.
But just before halftime, Pontus Delin headed in the much-anticipated equalizer for the home team, which gave them renewed hope as they entered the second half. Markus Andersson then put IFK Fjärås in the lead in the 55th minute, and the crowd believed a comeback was on the way.
However, it was Lerkils IF's Gustav Rydberg who stole the show, scoring both the second and third goals of the match in the 56th and 71st minutes, completing his hat-trick in the 71st. Hampus Ryno then sealed the deal with a lovely shot into the net in the 74th minute, and the match ended 2-5 in favor of Lerkils IF.
Referee Burim Mehmeti had to blow his whistle for several important decisions during the match, issuing two yellow cards to the teams and awarding an own goal in the first half. The attendance of 425 at Ögärdets IP A once again demonstrated the appetite for football among the west coast fans. The next match between IFK Fjärås and Lerkils IF will take place on September 14th, giving all blue-and-white supporters a chance for revenge.
