Bergs IK entered Sunday’s match at Galhammarudden IP with tremendous confidence. The team was unbeaten and led by Anton Hybrink, who was in fantastic form. The opposition, Alsens IF, had a significantly tougher season and was struggling at the bottom of the table.
After just 27 minutes, Hybrink showcased his quality by scoring his first goal of the day. A fine counterattack from Bergs led to a shot that went past the Alsens goalkeeper and into the net. Alsens fought hard but failed to create any dangerous chances. Instead, Bergs continued to produce goals, and in the 39th minute, Per Olofsson seized the opportunity to make it 2-0.
Alsens tried to recover, but it was Anton Hybrink who stepped up again and scored his second goal just before halftime, making the score 3-0. In the second half, Bergs IK drew strength from their goal celebrations and began to completely dominate the game. Anton Hybrink continued his scoring spree, netting his third goal of the match just three minutes into the second half.
Alsens battled on but struggled to defend against Bergs IK's offensive. Måns Moberg extended the lead, and Henrik Dillner scored Bergs IK's sixth goal. The match was already decided, but Bergs IK was not finished yet. In the 88th minute, Rasmus Alvarsson had the chance to put the final touch on the match by scoring the eighth and final goal, making the score 8-0 for the home team.
Bergs IK became stars in the eyes of the 150 spectators watching the game. Alsens IF left with their heads down, while Bergs IK is now on the rise in the table and is considered a strong team in Division 4 Jämtland-Härjedalen. Anton Hybrink, with his hat trick, was the great hero of the match and proved that Bergs IK’s investment in him last summer was a wise one.
