IFK Sundsvall showed from the very beginning who the favorites were when they faced Ånge IF at Ånge IP on Thursday evening. After just three minutes, Hamidou Diallo Gaye received a pass and shot the ball into the net, giving the away team a solid lead of 1-0. Just four minutes later, Gustav Salomonsson followed up with a nice cross that led to an easy goal for him, and IFK Sundsvall now led 2-0.
Ånge IF did their best to regain control of the match, but it would not be enough against a seasoned and goal-hungry IFK Sundsvall. In the 16th minute, the away team extended their lead with another goal through a fine performance by Alexander Aspenrud.
Ånge IF briefly came back into the match when Lamin Njie managed to score a consolation goal in the 27th minute. But once again, it would only be a brief moment of hope for the home team. Just before halftime, Hamidou Diallo Gaye had another chance to score, and he didn't miss. With his second goal of the evening, he increased IFK Sundsvall's lead to 4-1.
The second half continued with IFK Sundsvall's dominance. Oscar Moss scored his goal in the 65th minute, followed by Robin Holmlund's goal just one minute later. Hamidou Diallo Gaye then became the king of the evening, scoring two more goals in just six minutes (68' and 72'). August Ekenberg rounded off the game by scoring his first goal of the evening, and IFK Sundsvall ultimately won 9-1.
The match was unfortunately not a highlight for the home fans, and Ånge IF will take lessons from the defeat. IFK Sundsvall once again demonstrated their strength, and the team continues its success story in Division 4 Medelpad.
