Åby IF demonstrated today on their home ground that they are a team to be reckoned with in Division 4 Östergötland Östra, women. In front of just over 95 spectators at Åby IP, the team secured a well-deserved victory with a score of 6-2 against Kuddby IF.

Already after seven minutes, Linn Josefsson scored the opening goal for Åby. The team dominated the match and created several sharp chances in front of Kuddby's goal. In the 16th minute, Maja Lil Margrethe Ekberg made a nice shot that hit the crossbar and went in, making it 2-0 to the home team.

Kuddby tried to come back in the match and eventually reduced the deficit in the 43rd minute through Isabelle Erlandsson. Just a few minutes after the break, Ebba Käcker also scored for the visitors, and suddenly the score was 3-2.

But Åby did not give up and continued to press forward. In the 62nd minute, Isabella Björklou scored a much-needed fourth goal for the home team, creating some breathing room for them once again. Maja Lundin then extended the lead in the 78th minute, and just a few minutes later, Ida Borrvall capped the final score to 6-2.

It was a well-deserved victory for Åby IF, who showcased strong play and maintained a high tempo throughout the match. Kuddby IF fought on, but could not quite catch up after Åby's early lead. The referee, Amra Muratagic, handled the match commendably and kept the game flowing throughout.
