It was a sunny Sunday afternoon at the Fastighetsteknik Arena when Lindö FF B faced Kuddby IF in Division 4 Östergötland Östra for women. Unfortunately, there were no spectators present to cheer on the teams, but that did not stop the players from giving their all on the pitch under the leadership of referee Gustav Zackrisson.
Kuddby IF started the match strongly and took the lead after just five minutes when Klara Arfwedson fired a long-range shot that found its way behind the Lindö goalkeeper. Just a few minutes later, Moa Gustavsson made it 0-2 for the visitors, applying pressure on the home team.
Shortly thereafter, Gustavsson increased her goal tally after a nice pass from a teammate, and Kuddby was now in a very comfortable position with a score of 0-3 on the scoreboard.
Lindö tried to find their way back into the match, and five minutes before halftime, they managed to reduce the deficit through Anna Malm, who was neatly set up by a teammate. Thus, it was 1-3 on the board when the referee blew for halftime.
After the break, Lindö continued to push and created several dangerous goal-scoring opportunities. However, it wasn't until the 57th minute that they managed to score another goal, with a well-placed header from a corner.
Lindö began to believe in a comeback, but all worries quickly disappeared when Kuddby's Helena Ringman scored 4-2 on a fine counterattack in the 66th minute. The match was thus decided in favor of Kuddby, and the team left the pitch victorious with a score of 2-4.
A well-played match by both teams despite the lack of spectator support. Kuddby IF displayed great sharpness in front of goal, while Lindö FF B's strong will and fighting spirit deserve mention despite the loss.
