On Tuesday evening it was time for an exciting football match at Ekängens IP A in Division 4 Södermanland for ladies between the home team BK Sport and New Mill FC. In front of a crowd of 87, referee Elija Abo-Jiriy kicked off the match.
New Mill FC started strongly and took the lead after just 14 minutes through Alice Nilsson. BK Sport fought on and equalized in the 39th minute through a penalty kick by Sofia Olsson, making the score 1-1.
The match was even and exciting in the second half, with several dangerous goal chances. Unfortunately for the home side, New Mill FC managed to score another goal in the closing stages of the match, again through Alice Nilsson.
BK Sport tried desperately to catch up and pressed hard in the final minutes. Unfortunately, this encouraged some hard tackles from the home side, resulting in two cautions. First it was Ida Bäck in minute 89 and then Madeleine Enawall in minute 99.
Despite this attempt to catch up, BK Sport did not manage to equalize and the match ended with a victory for New Mill FC with the score 1-2 after a hard fought game.
